BUILDING FRIENDSHIPS ACROSS CULTURES

RAFIKI INITIATIVES

Since its founding in 2014, the Africa Student Fund (ASF) has been rooted in one simple idea: rafiki – the Swahili word for friendship. The organization grew out of relationships formed through immersion experiences in Kenya and Tanzania, where encounters became connections of care and concern.

Guided by this spirit of friendship, ASF works to transform lives by expanding access to education for students in need. To date, this 501(c)(3) organization has contributed more than $300,000 in support of young people across East Africa – opening doors to opportunity and building a foundation for the future.

Through ASF’s Journey to Africa immersion experiences in Kenya and Tanzania, participants are invited into meaningful, life-changing encounters that deepen understanding, foster global solidarity, and offer participants an opportunity to make their world bigger.
